About Us & Why Such a Silly Name?

DonkeyHonk.com came about quite by accident - really. I had to quit my job because of a tractor accident that has left me unable to work full- or even part-time. I can no longer keep a 'normal' job but I can make basic web sites that are useful, neat and readable. Until recently, the web sites have been for other business but two of my own are now online - DonkeyHonk.com and my own farm's site, LongTimeAgoFarm.com.

Regarding the name, Donkey Honk... I am the owner of one miniature Poitou and three miniature Mediterranean (Sicilian) donkeys. They are marvelous creatures. Because of the noise they make when they want attention or before getting wound up into a full bray, I say the 'donkeys are honking' and that always makes my niece giggle. We were talking about ways to make a little extra money, and voila! a web site called DonkeyHonk.com.

Under right conditions, a donkey's honk can be heard for miles. No better way to announce a business' products or services than to let the Donkey Honk! Here you will find a listing of individuals and businesses that provide family-friendly goods and services in southeast Ohio and the area known as 'Little Appalachia'. The eHonks Newsletter

If you haven't done so already please sign up for our newsletter, eHonks, using the form at the top right corner of the Home page. Be assured your email address will NOT be given to the advertisers found on this web site nor will your email address be sold or rented. I don't like companies to do that to me and I will not do it to you.

Your feedback and suggestions are always appreciated because we want to know what you feel makes a newsletter worthwhile.

FREE Classified Ads may be submitted online using the Submit a Classified Ad form. Only family-friendly, 'G-rated' ads will be posted and we reserve the right to refuse any listing. Ads will remain online for a minimum of thirty days unless you choose to end the ad sooner. Check your ad for accuracy and give as much detail as possible. The ad may contain up to 300 characters including spacing and punctuation. You may choose to have readers contact you by phone or email or both.
